Your design appointment: Gina Daly tells us what to expect
She’s the cooking sensation behind the hugely popular 'The Daly Dish' Instagram page, and now Gina Daly is designing her dream kitchen with Cash & Carry Kitchens. One of her very first steps was booking a free kitchen design appointment. Here, Gina explains exactly what to expect from the process and how to prepare.

How to prepare for your kitchen design consultation
According to Gina, a little preparation makes your design appointment much more valuable. Here are her top three tips:
1. Work out your kitchen budget
“Think about where you want to save and where you want to splurge,” says Gina. With nearly 50 years of expertise, Cash & Carry Kitchens caters for every style, size and budget. Having an idea of what you want to spend means you can explore options like door styles, finishes, accessories and clever storage solutions during your consultation.
1. Calculate your budget
"Think about where you want to save and where you want to splurge", advises Gina. Cash & Carry Kitchens has something for everyone, and we cater for all sized kitchens. Having a better idea of your budget allows you to explore other elements at your design consultation like door styles, accessories and storage solutions.

2. Bring rough kitchen measurements
Your measurements don’t need to be exact. Include doors, windows and plug sockets where possible. “Don’t worry if they’re not perfect,” Gina explains. “Once you’ve chosen your design, Cash & Carry Kitchens will send a professional to your home to take precise measurements before installation.” This ensures your kitchen fits seamlessly with no surprises.

3. Collect kitchen inspiration
Wondering where to find ideas for your new kitchen? Gina suggests starting with the Cash & Carry Kitchens brochure and website. Pinterest, Instagram and design blogs are also great for spotting trends. “If you see something you love, save it and share it with your designer,” she advises.

What should you include on your kitchen wishlist?
Your wishlist defines what really matters to you. Do you want more storage? Better functionality? Accessibility features? Gina knew exactly what she wanted: “The most important thing for me is storage – and I’d absolutely love a spice rack!”

Step-by-step: Inside your free design appointment
A typical kitchen design consultation lasts around 60–90 minutes with your showroom expert. During this time:
-
Your designer will review your needs, preferences and wishlist.
-
You’ll explore kitchen layouts, door styles and finishes.
-
You’ll see real-life displays of storage, lighting, taps, worktops and handles.
-
Your designer will then create a 3D visual of your dream kitchen so you can see how it will look in your home.
“In just a matter of weeks, that 3D visualisation becomes reality in your own kitchen,” says Gina.
