Customer Story: Peter's Stylish Modica Dust Grey Kitchen in Cork

Explore this contemporary Modica Dust Grey kitchen designed for everyday living in Cork

Peter's Modern Modica Kitchen

When Peter and his husband Adam moved into their new home in Ballincollig, one thing was clear from the outset. The kitchen wasn’t just another room, it was going to be the heart of their home.

‘We love cooking and we knew that when we moved in that the kitchen would be a very important part of our house,’ Peter explains. ‘It’s a social place for us and we spend so much time here.’

Six months on, their Modica Dust Grey kitchen has become exactly that. A beautifully modern, minimalist space where everyday cooking, weekend entertaining and quiet morning coffees all come together seamlessly.

Peter tells us his favourite kitchen features

A Modern, Minimalist Kitchen Designed for Living

From the beginning, Peter and Adam had a clear vision. They wanted something modern, clean and understated.

‘We wanted something very modern, very minimalistic. We love the grey colour and the black handle, so I think we got exactly what we wanted with this kitchen.’

The Modica Dust Grey finish delivers a timeless, contemporary look that feels both elegant and practical. Paired with sleek Alvo Black Handles and integrated black appliances, the overall effect is calm, cohesive and effortlessly stylish.

For Peter, the kitchen truly feels like the centre of daily life.
‘For us, the kitchen is like the heart of our home because we just spend so much time here. It’s very spacious, very light, and it’s so much fun to be here and cooking.’

Thoughtful Details That Make Everyday Life Easier

This kitchen isn’t just about looks. It’s packed with smart design features that enhance how the space is used day to day.

Peter is particularly fond of the layout and appliance positioning.
‘I really like the position of the oven and the microwave, it’s very handy to use.’

The integrated appliances were a deliberate choice to maintain a streamlined aesthetic.
‘We integrated our appliances because we didn’t want to put them on display. It looks much nicer and more minimalist.’

The Robson Oak Worktop adds warmth and contrast to the dust grey cabinetry.
‘I like this worktop so much because it’s very easy to clean and it has a very natural colour. It has a really nice contrast with the rest of the kitchen.’

"The worktop has a really nice contrast with the rest of the kitchen."

The Coffee Station: A Daily Ritual Made Stylish

One standout feature in Peter’s kitchen is the dedicated coffee station, a must-have for any serious coffee lover.

‘I really love the coffee station because that’s where we start every morning,’ Peter says. ‘When we have guests, we always offer them coffee, so it’s a very important place in our kitchen.’

It’s a simple feature, but one that creates something more than just convenience. It creates ritual. It creates connection. It creates a moment to pause before the day begins.

The location of the coffee station was also carefully planned for convenience. It's located near the fridge and has a dedicated shelf for cups making it easy to navigate.

Small touches like a built-in Spice Rack  also make a big difference for everyday cooking.
Peter explains "Everything is very easy to reach when I’m cooking.’

The dedicated coffee station is a firm favourite

Designed and Installed by Experts in Cork

Peter and Adam worked with Declan Hennessy at Cash & Carry Kitchens Tramore Road, Cork to bring their vision to life.

‘We went to the Cork showroom and Declan planned this lovely kitchen for us. He was very helpful and very nice to work with.’

From design to installation, the process was smooth and efficient.

The installation team handled everything with ease.
Peter tells us ‘I didn’t have to think about anything else. They knew exactly what to do.’

Today, the kitchen is used daily and loved just as much as Peter hoped it would be.
