Emmet's Oslo Sage Green Kitchen

Emmet recently bought his first home and immediately wanted to get to work on the home renovations, but he didn't know where to begin when designing a new kitchen.

Emmet wanted his new kitchen to be a place to relax after a busy work day and a haven where he could socialise and enjoy time with his friends. Luckily for Emmet, he visited the Cash & Carry Kitchens website, and was thrilled to find they had a showroom nearby in Shamrock Business Park, Carlow. The existing kitchen was an old, dull, traditional door and needed a new lease of life. Emmet wanted something that would be functional but give the kitchen that wow factor. This led Emmet to the Oslo Sage kitchen from our Modern Heritage collection.

The Kitchen Design Process

Emmet booked his design consultation on the Cash & Carry Kitchens website and visited the Carlow showroom later that week, where he designed his dream kitchen with expert desinger, Brad Cruickshank. Emmet really wanted to rearrange the layout making it more accessible and functional as a social space. He wanted the appliances and features to flow. With this in mind, Brad included integrated appliances, a large belfast sink, clever storage solutions and an overall more uniform aesthetic. Emmet said "the design team were excellent from start to finish. They were able to put me at ease".

The Belfast Sink

Emmet "loved" his belfast sink, and claims it is a stand out feature in his kitchen. The deep rectangular bowl contains an overflow hole that adds air to the drain to help it work more effectively. The belfast sink adds a timeless country-kitchen charm to Emmet's space. 

Integrated Appliances

Emmet decided he wanted a clean and uniform aesthetic in his new kitchen. He rearranged the entire layout, but had concerns that the amount of appliances he wanted wouldn't fit seamlessly into the flow. His designer Brad, suggested integrating some of the appliances to achieve that look. Emmet said he was "very surprised" that Brad managed to "fit all the appliances in such a small space", he continued to say that "it exceeded my expectations".

The integrated grill and oven are now at eye level making it more accessible for Emmet as he "loves to cook for friends and family". He also integrated his diswasher to sustain that consistent aesethetic with the Oslo Sage kitchen door style.

The Kitchen Design Experience

Emmet described their experience with Cash & Carry Kitchens and the design team as “excellent from start to finish”. The kitchen redesign has fulfilled all Emmet's needs in terms of functionality and accessibilty.
