Customer Story: Danielle Murphy's Augusta White kitchen
How the Murphys were able to overcome space limitations to maximise storage
Danielle's Augusta White kitchen
Danielle Murphy faced two main problems when planning her new kitchen. Firstly, she needed more storage. However, her kitchen received very little light. That was problem number two. How could she increase storage without impacting the amount of light coming in? And how could she open up the space for more light without reducing the available storage? She turned to the design experts at Cash & Carry Kitchens for a solution. Here Danielle tells us how the team designed her gorgeous Augusta White kitchen.

Danielle's kitchen wish list
"I spoke to the designer regarding my wish list. I knew I needed a bright kitchen having made bad decisions in the past. I wanted units to the ceiling, clear countertops, ample storage and an island. The Augusta was the right choice for me, with the shaker-style door adding detail and warmth".

Storage solutions
"Our kitchen was very tight for storage. However, it's located in the front of our house and receives very little light. We knew we needed to open the space up. We achieved this by choosing the taller 900mm high units on one wall. We also went for the corner fly box and storage under our peninsula. The under-counter fridge and freezer allowed us to free up wall space. We wanted to maximise counter space. The storage above and below the oven and microwave allowed us to conveniently store our smaller appliances like the toaster and air fryer".

Quooker tap
"I chose the Quooker Pro Flex. It has been a game-changer. It has reduced my cooking time and allowed me to remove the kettle which frees up my counter space. The convenience of having instant boiling water is fantastic".

Drawers
"Using my drawers for cutlery, crockery and pots is extremely convenient as there is no stretching. It also allowed me to reduce the number of units and open up the space in my kitchen".

Induction Hob
"I had never cooked on induction before, so I was quite nervous. But the benefit of cooking faster and using less power made it very easy to get familiar with. The entirely smooth surface makes it easy to clean and maintain. Also, the safety of no flame or element to light makes it safe for all the family to use".

The kitchen peninsula
"An island was the dream for me. However, it was not practical given our space. It was recommended that I have a peninsula instead. The peninsula is the heart of our home. With teenagers in the house, it has become the meeting point for family dinners, chats and homework. We have our under-counter fridge and freezer in the peninsula along with some extra storage underneath".

Corner storage fly box
"The fly box is a fantastic feature in our kitchen. I wanted to utilise the corner space, but also avoid getting down and struggling into the back to find items. The slide and glide mechanism in the fly box makes it so easy to access everything. We use the fly box as a pantry-type storage. I can quickly see what we need to top up on when completing my shopping list".

Accessories, worktops and appliances
"The copper handles and chrome Quooker tap added a modern twist to my kitchen. I chose ocean white 20mm quartz as my worktop and splashback. Choosing quartz allowed me to have under-mounted sink and drainer groves which gave me the maximum amount of workspace on my countertop. I chose the Whirlpool 60cm induction hob, eye level oven and combi microwave. The sixth sense feature on the Whirlpool appliances has changed how I cook. It is a simple-to-use feature that produces perfect results.
