Kitchen Production: Gina Daly's Modica Forest Green Kitchen

Ever wondered how your dream kitchen comes to life? Best-selling cookbook author and content creator Gina Daly visited our Cash & Carry Kitchens manufacturing facility in Castlemartyr, East Cork to see exactly how her Modica Forest Green Kitchen was made from the first cut of the boards to the final delivery to her home.

Step 1: Cutting and Edging the Boards

The production process begins with the boards, which form the foundation of your kitchen cabinets. These are cut to exact measurements before being finished with smooth edges using a specialised machine called an edge bander.

Every edge is carefully sealed by our skilled operators to ensure durability and a flawless finish. This attention to detail guarantees that your cabinets are not only functional but also beautifully crafted.

Step 2: Preparing and Boring the Doors

Next, the door styles for your kitchen are retrieved from our on-site storage facility. Each door undergoes a hole boring process so hinges can be fitted perfectly. This ensures your doors align seamlessly with the cabinets and function smoothly in your finished kitchen.

Step 3: Hand Assembly of Accessories

One of the most important parts of the process is assembly. At Cash & Carry Kitchens, we hand-assemble all kitchen accessories to ensure accuracy and strength.

For example, Gina’s kitchen included a Le Mans corner storage unit, which features multiple intricate parts that our expert craftsmen carefully fitted into the cabinets. Each drawer, hinge, and accessory is placed and secured by hand combining precision with quality workmanship.

Step 4: Rigorous Quality Checks

Before a kitchen leaves our facility, it must pass a series of quality control checks. Everything is reviewed from the condition of the doors to the smooth operation of hinges, drawers, and accessories.

Only once our quality specialists are fully satisfied is the kitchen marked as approved. This commitment to detail means that your kitchen will perform beautifully from the moment it’s installed.

Step 5: Wrapping and Preparing for Delivery

Once approved, your kitchen is carefully wrapped using a specialised wrapping machine. Every edge and corner is protected to prevent scratches or scrapes during transport.

From here, the wrapped kitchen, along with appliances and additional fittings, is placed on a trolley and loaded onto one of our Cash & Carry Kitchens delivery lorries.

The result? A kitchen that arrives at your home in perfect condition, ready to be installed.
