What is a hidden utility room?
A utility room is a dedicated space for carrying out essential household tasks like laundry. It's also somewhere to store cleaning supplies and can even provide extra pantry storage.
What makes a hidden utility room different is that it is concealed behind stylish cabinetry which blends in seamlessly with the rest of your kitchen. "It looks like an ordinary cupboard door," exclaims Jennifer as she opens up the doors for the first time.
The beauty of this design is that all your appliances and cleaning supplies are right at hand when you need them... and out of sight when you don't.

The perfect laundry room
"This is the perfect space for doing your laundry", Jennifer explains as she steps inside the display at her local Cash & Carry Kitchens showroom. The washer and dryer are positioned next to each other, so it's very easy to transfer washing from one to the other. And because they're raised, there's no need to bend down.

Integrated laundry baskets
There's also the option to include some really clever storage solutions to help make doing the laundry a bit easier. You can incorporate a rail for airing your clothes and a shelf above to store folded garments. Integrated laundry baskets are a possibility too. These are fitted inside the cabinets and can simply be pulled out when needed and pushed closed afterwards. "They would be perfect when sorting out laundry", says Jennifer.

A multi-functional space
A hidden utility doesn't have to be just for laundry. It can double up as a boot room, larder space or even a dog-washing station. During your design consultation, an expert designer will be able to guide you on smart storage and clever design layouts. Your hidden utility room can be tailored to suit your exact needs.

More utility room options
A hidden utility room requires a certain amount of space. But there are still options if you only have a small room to work with. For instance, in Jennifer's own kitchen, she has a mini utility tucked away inside her tall units. This allows her to keep everything neat and tidy while also maximising her available space. "I love it", she says.
Regardless of your room size or whether you are going for a hidden or regular option, you can kit out a utility room using any of the door styles from the Cash & Carry Kitchens range.
